Veneto Spettacoli di Mistero is back, the festival dedicated to the most fascinating legends, tales, and traditions of the Veneto region. This year’s theme is the Veneto Bestiary: a journey through the stories, beliefs, rituals, and tales of the Veneto’s oral tradition, in which animals take center stage in ancient legends, superstitions, and mysteries passed down through the ages.
Part of this evocative journey is “Small Beasts, Great Stories,” an immersive experience that invites you to explore Pieve di Soligo with fresh eyes, in search of traces of its secret bestiary. Combining urban exploration with creativity, a guided walk will lead participants to discover animal figures and symbols hidden among frescoes, sculptures, and coats of arms: from the lions and the eagle of the Archpriest’s Church and the Balbi Valier family to the majestic horses of Palazzo Morona, right down to the most enigmatic details. An itinerary where art, history, and popular folklore intertwine, revealing an unexpected side of the town. Sacred symbols, noble emblems, and local legends will accompany participants on a journey through curiosities and tales. At the end of the tour, we’ll return to the Library for a creative workshop: drawing inspiration from the animals and symbols encountered along the way, everyone will be able to design and create their own personal coat of arms, transforming the city’s historical and cultural heritage into a small work of art.
Starting from the Pieve di Soligo Municipal Library at 14.45 p.m
