Veneto Spettacoli di Mistero is back, the festival dedicated to the most fascinating legends, tales, and traditions of the Veneto region. This year’s theme is the Veneto Bestiary: a journey through the stories, beliefs, rituals, and tales of the Veneto’s oral tradition, in which animals take center stage in ancient legends, superstitions, and mysteries passed down through the ages.
Part of this evocative journey is ‘The True Story of St George and the Dragon’, an immersive experience that invites you to discover the secrets hidden in Fregona. The legend is transformed into a tale waiting to be rediscovered! Through the voice of the jester Sorzo, a single actor plays the Knight, the Princess and the Dragon, revealing three versions of the same story. Blending Commedia dell’Arte, masks, puppets, fire, comedy and mystery, Federico Fauro turns perspectives on their head and challenges the legend we all think we know. A show for all ages, where nothing is as it seems and every character has the chance to tell their own truth. Because every story has more than one version: it’s up to the audience to decide who to believe!
