Combai
Combai, that is located at the foot of the Pre-Alps and surrounded by majestic chestnut trees and centuries-old vineyards, is perhaps one of the best known of the hamlets of Miane. Do not miss “La strada de la fan“, dating back to the Great War and built by women, old and children of Combai. It was commissioned by the Austrian military engineers for a more easy transportation of cannons and weapons to the highest points (entire cobbled sections are still visible). “Le Spinonce” is also linked to the Second World War. It is a characteristic place of natural ravines and the site of a massacre perpetrated by the partisans in May 1945.
In the village you can visit the Parish Church whose first nucleus was built in 1475 with its numerous works of art contained inside, the church dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows of Ronch and the church of San Micèl, cited as a “punitive ” hermitage, underlying the Abbey of Follina in the thirteenth century.
Numerous nature trails also start from the center of the town. Here you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the truest nature following the “Troj de la Rota“, the “Sentiero dei Marroni” and the “Strada del Verdiso” trails.
It is possible to visit the Chestnut Experimental Center in Callesela hamlet with an educational itinerary dedicated to children to discover this famous typical product of Combai.
