SMALL VILLAGES

photo by Provincia Treviso, Lago Film Fest, Gabriele dalla Porta

On Treviso hills there are massive examples of small villages that have an unique charm.
A few steps from the Piave river, in the municipality of Segusino, the small uninhabited village of Stramare finds life thanks to the “Notes Santa”.
After the centre of Valdobbiadene you reach the village of Combai, surrounded by majestic chestnut trees and vineyards.
On the visual impact is Cison Valmarino with its Brandolini Castle, built on a spur overlooking the valley.
Located in the same municipality, Rolle is the only Italian village protected by the FAI. Here the vineyards create a “postcard sent by the gods” (cit. Andrea Zanotto).
A few kilometers away, in the direction of Vittorio Veneto, the village of Lago lies, with its courtyards and stone houses, which each year hosts the renowned Lago Film Fest.
Nestled in the valley of the river Meschio in the north of Vittorio Veneto, the nucleus of Serravalle was created in the Roman era. They have developed a number of local crafts (mills, forges and foundries ). Going down in direction of the Piave River, the village of Collalto in Susegana is located in a strategic position: from here they can control access from the Piave and the Montel
