From 16 to 31 October, the historic village of Tovena, nestled at the foot of the picturesque San Boldo Pass in the municipality of Cison di Valmarino, comes alive with festivities and folklore for the ‘Tovena in Festa’ celebrations and the ‘Antica Fiera Franca dei SS. Simone e Giuda’. An unmissable event steeped in history, ideal for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the most authentic scents and genuine atmosphere of autumn in the Treviso area. This historic event, officially recognised as a ‘Sagra di Qualità’ (Quality Festival), is also a highlight of the Delizie d’Autunno programme. This is the famous programme of events designed to introduce residents and tourists alike to the region’s seasonal culinary and wine specialities and its deep-rooted cultural heritage.
The signature dish and undisputed star of the festivities is the renowned “trippa alla tovenese”, prepared strictly according to the ancient local recipe handed down through the generations. At the Pro Loco’s lavish food and wine stand, visitors can also indulge in a mouth-watering variety of traditional country dishes and daily specialities, to be paired with an excellent glass of wine selected from the well-stocked wine shop.
