CANSIGLIO

photo by ncocco, denisrio, Daniele Dal Monte, Matteo Paladin

The great Cansiglio Forest is a plateau covered by beeches and fir trees. Within it there are two vast grasslands where large herds of deer have found the ideal habitat, particularly during the period of love.
The waterway Caglieron gives its name to the famous caves located in the municipality of Fregona. It’s a fascinating set consisting of bridges and paths that cross a natural ravine and some quarries from which in the past was extracted ‘sandstone.
The Cansiglio is the second largest forest in Italy and one of the most beautiful for its trees and many animal species that live in.
There are many sports that you can practice: cross country skiing, alpine skiing, snowshoe hiking, dog sledding, mountain biking, hiking and guided tours, horse trekking, caving and golf.
